Dear All,

Just to keep you updated on this issue.

ESA requested the delivery of the FSW components (SREC, MDOR and release document) on the 15th June. However, following some email communication, they agreed to the following:

1) Deliver V3.3.8 SREC (Airbus format) and MDOR (ESOC format) files to ESA. The upload method is using MDOR (generated by MSSL). The MDOR file generation rely on the SREC file (input).

2) Also they requested a release document for FSW V3.3.8.

The above (MDOR specifically) will be provided to ESOC to run it through their system and make sure there are no syntax errors, know the size (uplink time) ... etc

Items 1 and 2 were delivered on the Monday, 17th June, in addition to the IDB.

3) In the meantime we can continue testing and if there are problems with V3.3.8, we need to modify and provide the final release by 01/07. A test document to follow the final release (15/07)?

At present and in the light of couple of problems uncovered last week, the delivery on the 01/07 is questionable.

Note: In the release document, the following are highlighted:

> Known problems or limitations
>
> Outstanding platform FDIR issues (ESA, Airbus and MSSL):
>
> Email Ref.: Payload FDIR issue 7 finalization – Minutes of Meeting, dated 22/05/2019.
>
> Airbus NCR 1027 (SW overruns detected at Airbus but not when using the SIIS at MSSL). Once the new SW is installed, some debugging information can be obtained which may help in identifying the cause of the problem.
>
> Concern about time-code ticks accuracy. These are specified as 1s ticks (EIDA) and intended for on-board time verification and correction. Following S/C TVAC, it became apparent that these may have occasional few hundred milliseconds drift. Implication on SWA to be assessed.

Related to the first bullet: These are issues raised with ESA before (some more than 1 year old and some related to the latest FDIR TN-288, dated 16/01). ESA raised ECRs but there is no guarantee that Airbus will implement them, as per ESA response:

> We just learned that discussions on SWA FDIR issues with ASU will take place at next PM (begin July) the earliest, therefore after the final SWA FSW delivery. It is unclear whether ASU will implement your requests on the CSW. Please keep this into account for your FDIR testing.

The changes are not complex (the stuff that we do in a day or two).

Careful handling is needed in dealing with this issue.

Regards,
Khalid
